4th February 2013 - Record £62 Million investment in UK cycling
Large investment is being put into Community Links, linking key services such as train stations, via cycle routes. Minister Norman Baker announced £15 million of investment will be made available to enhance community cycling.
A further £12 million is to be made available to National Parks to improve the overall cycling conditions and services on offer to the cycling community.
The government are also keen to encourage city centre hire points, similar to the system currently in operation in London, with numerous UK cities due to receive funding for extra cycle parking and hire points in the not to distant future.
