A cycle compound requires a large free area. A standard 20 cycle compound takes up 5.5 metres x 4 metres. Your available space will dictate how many bikes you can house with the length of the shelter increasing by 4 metres for every 20 bikes. If you have a lot of free space or large playing fields then this shelter is ideal, but if you are restricted in space then maybe a secure cycle shelter or standard cycle shelter would be more preferable?
Again ground cover is a very important consideration when choosing your cycle shelter. As briefly touched upon above, the number of bikes you wish to house directly affects the size of your shelter and vice versa. If you have a large car park or play area, we can simply install the shelter by digging out footings and concreting the shelter columns into the ground. This method is the most efficient way of fitting your shelter. If however you don’t have a lot of free space in your car park or play area and wish to install the cycle compound into grassed area, that is not a problem. We would simply dig out the grassed area and form a new concrete base. Once that is complete we will bolt your new shelter to the concrete base.
