The demand by staff for Smoking Shelters is now changing as more and more ex smoking’s move to eCig’s.

Smoking shelters must be 50% glazed and 50% open, not a nice place to be when the weathers so bad and ex-smokers are no longer prepared to share the spaces provided with those smoking.

So here at Shelter-Solutions we have our range of Vaping Shelters to go along with our Smoking Shelters and we can even do one for both sets of users; such is the advantage of a small company who make everything bespoke.

All our shelters are made from 100% aluminium extrusion, so they will never rust, in fact we provide free 15 year guarantee T&C apply, as we know a simple wash down with soapy water once a year will keep your Smoking/Vaping shelter looking like new.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How Much Do Smoking Shelters Cost?

They start at £757, that’s for a very nice (1.0m x 1.5m) or 5 foot x 3 foot 4inch; back and roof.  You can have any style of roof, Domed, Pitched or Flat, at no extra cost.

You can of course add more end panels to increase the size of the shelter and the weather protection and even a perch seat but that is the starting price.

Can You Fit Your Own Smoking Shelter?

Yes, but this is if you hold the correct Certificates in order to work on the grounds where the shelter is to be located, that’s why Shelter-Solutions will always quote with delivery and installation, average cost of installation between £300 to £500 plus vat depending upon your location and work involved.

It’s advised that you should avoid any direct sales companies who sell you a Smoking Shelter saying they will provide assembly details, as these shelters when delivered flat packed can be tricky to assemble, it will generally take us a matter of minutes to install when built up ourselves.

What Are Smoking Shelters Made From?

Smoking shelters used to be made from mild steel, in fact some companies still manufacture them in steel but they do rust and they are very and high maintenance; they need rubbing down and re painting with rust protection after 5 years or less in exposed conditions.

Here at Shelter-Solutions we make all our Smoking Shelters out of aluminium profiles so there is never an issue with rust, in fact we are happy to guarantee them for 15 years against rust.

There is little or no maintenance, a wash down once a year with warm soapy water and they will stay looking as good as new.

As aluminium is a much lighter material the fitting cost are far cheaper.  In the event one is damaged the repair costs are much cheaper and they cause less damage to the ground-works.

What Are Smoking Shelters Glazed With?

We always recommend 6mm TSG (Toughened Safety Glass) but you can have 4mm Polycarbonate at the same price.  However, in our opinion TSG is much better. Glass is easy to clean, does not scratch and stays cleaner looking.

The roofs are glazed with 4mm tinted UV stable polycarbonate.

Can I Buy A Vandal Proof Smoking Shelter?

However, vandal resistant Smoking shelters are not a problem.  We would use perforated aluminium panels in place of the polycarbonate or TSG and aluminium cladding on the roof in place of the 4mm polycarbonate.

How Much Does It Cost To Install A Smoking Shelter?

Naturally it depends on the location and what if any ‘extra’ work is required, but normally between £300 – £500 plus vat.

Smoking Shelters With Solar Panels?

Yes Solar Panels are not a problem; as Solar Panels vary so much in price we would be happy to discuss this with you.  Whichever Solar Panel System you prefer we buy them on your behalf and don’t even add a percentage on.  There is not even a fitting cost if ordered with the smoking shelter.

How Often Do I Need To Consider Smoking Shelter Replacement?

Smoking Shelters made from mild steel may last up to 10 years, but we have found speaking to clients who purchased them in the past that they need to re paint them after say 5 years; whereas aluminium Smoking Shelters will last more than 20 years, and yet they generally cost less!

Do I Need Separate Smoking Shelters To Cater For Both Smoking And Vaping/E-cigarette Users?

Yes, Vaping/E-cigarette users would require a separate shelter to those that use tobacco cigarettes.
