If you own a nursery or a daycare centre, you may be considering investing in a pram shelter. This will allow parents or carers to leave their prams at your centre during the day without being worried about them being stolen or damaged. At Shelter Solutions, we made each individual pram shelter by hand in our factories, so all you need to do is let us know the size of your assigned area, and we will manufacture a shelter that will fit as needed. The main things to consider are:
• How much space you want the shelter to take
• How many buggies you want to fit in the shelter
• Whether you require the buggies to fit into separate compartments, which will inevitably take up more space
We have three main options for pram shelters, all of different sizes:
Shelters with doors
If you’d prefer slightly more security, you may want to consider having a shelter with doors installed. You can even have separate compartments for each pram, with each one being individually locked. Your shelter’s compartments can be around 1m wide, meaning a pram can be comfortably stored there. If you own a large daycare centre, you can customise the shelter’s size to include more compartments.
Locking pram shelters
A locking pram shelter is the most secure you can find. It is very spacious – 3mx2m – to allow space for multiple features enhancing its security. For example, there are 6mm glass panels that will ensure any parents or staff storing their prams that they will remain completely safe. It’s not only the size that is customisable with a pram shelter, but also the features. For example, why not choose a pitched roof or an elliptical one?
Open fronted pram shelters
The benefits of an open-fronted pram shelter are that prams are better protected from weather conditions due to the tether rails that run from the front to the back. This means that prams won’t pull away from the shelter, and are therefore protected from the elements. The size is 1.2m deep and 1.1m high, but it can also be custom-built to whatever size you require.
The benefits of installing pram shelters
There are main benefits to installing a pram shelter, particularly for nurseries and other similar facilities. Some of the main ones include:
• Keeping customers’ and parents’ prams dry and safe while they are elsewhere
• It can double up as a waiting shelter to protect parents from the elements
• It can store bikes, scooters, or similar methods of transport
• Reduces prams cluttering up the insides of your building or the entranceways
• Prevents mess from wet and dirty pram wheels coming inside the building
• Shows your customers and any parents that you value the health and safety of their possessions
• It can act as a promotional tool to attract new people
